One of the difficulties associated with traditional feedback systems is that the feedback is usually dependent on the subjectivity and perceptions of one individual (typically the manager) with limited information provided from other sources.

Through 360 Degree Feedback, the information is obtained not only from the manager but also from peers and colleagues, direct reports, internal and external customers, suppliers as well as through self-ratings. Although all the feedback providers cannot be expected to observe the individual to the same extent, their collective information becomes a more powerful and reliable information source.
