In addition to the more traditional one-on-one coaching intervention, organisations are looking are structured ways to allow a group of current or future leaders to participate in a coaching initiative. This can be achieved through a coaching or mentoring program.
Such a program would ideally suit:
- A group of managers identified as part of a talent management program
- An organisation undertaking cultural change and wishes to develop the people skills of its managers
- A coaching and mentoring input into a succession planning or management development program
A coaching and mentoring program is likely to include:
- A pre-coaching assessment tool such as a 360 degree feedback or emotional intelligence survey
- A workshop for all program participants designed to enhance leadership, interpersonal and communication effectiveness
- A combination of 1:1 and team coaching sessions
- Appropriate workplace projects, site visits and other observations designed to provide behavioural feedback
- A post-program review to assess the behavioural change that has occurred and sustain the momentum for a coaching culture. The post-program review may include both quantitative and qualitative feedback from stakeholders to ensure the evaluation is meaningful and relevant.
Our extensive experience in developing and implementing coaching and mentoring programs will enable the achievement of specific client objectives from such an initiative. |
